What We Do
Our work focuses on creating spaces for youth engagement in European political process. As young people are underrepresented in political institutions, we believe that they need to be involved in decision-making processes in other ways.
Climate justice can not be achieved without broad involvement of civil society. A key aspect of our work is therefore to build connections with youth organisations across Europe, in order to mobilize broad support for climate action. Here we work with our member organizations, members of members, and local youth-led organisations across Europe.
Key Projects
Funding Fairer Futures
co-funded by the European Commission, is dedicated to strengthening the climate movement and supporting its transformation to become truly inclusive—enabling everyone, including those in marginalised communities, to actively participate in and shape climate action.
Youth Climate Dialogues
GCE’s flagship project is the Youth Climate Dialogues—a series of dialogues between young people and EU institutions. We launched the Council Presidency Youth Dialogue and the European Parliament Youth Dialogue to create platforms for youth to engage with EU decision-makers and debate EU climate and environmental policy.
European Elections 2024
Empowering Youth Voters on Climate is a project by GCE to inform and empower first-time voters and all young people for the European elections, supported with funding by the European Parliament. GCE compiled a list of resources for young people to get informed and created a Coalition Manifesto for the EU elections, which it has presented to different political parties and candidates.
Climate Matters Podcast
Different series cover a range of topics relating to climate activism and policy-making including interviews with activists and professionals.
