New Economy is a cross-cutting program at Generation Climate Europe, which aims to support the inclusion of young people within new economy debates, working towards social and economic system transformation.
We aim to
advocate towards EU decision-makers for integrating new economy ideas across sectoral policies and legislations in collaboration with youth and other civil society organisations
build capacity, empower, and mobilise young people and youth organisations to engage in new economy debates and practices
make alternative economic approaches more relatable and compelling through practical examples and storytelling

Our sufficiency manifesto (Mar 2024)
Together with 96 European organisations, GCE has endorsed a manifesto for sufficiency in Europe.
We are part of the EU Wellbeing Economy Coalition, founded by the Institute for European Environmental Policy and the ZOE Institute for Future-fit Economies in 2021. It brings together different civil society actors to move policy beyond economic growth towards a wellbeing economy.
Generation Climate Europe equips you with the tools, connections, and – most importantly – the agency to push for a more just world, where the voices of those often denied are finally heard.
In the context of the New Economy team, this is materialised by our ambition to deliver intergenerational and social justice by inherently rethinking the structures of our current economic system and, ultimately, the purpose of our societies.
