COP31 Strategic Thematic Priorities

At GCE, we believe that the COP31 must deliver on the obligations set in the Paris Agreement, as reaffirmed by the International Court of Justice (ICJ), for a transition that is just, transparent, science-based and accountable to present and future generations.

We call for Parties to reach an agreement on five key areas:

1. Accelerate the Reduction of Emissions and a Just Transition Away From Fossil Fuels
2. Operationalise Progress on a Just Transition
3. Speed up Adaptation for Climate Resilience
4. Reconcile the Climate and Biodiversity Negotiations Agendas
5. Promote Youth Participation and Action for Climate Empowerment
