"Young voices on climate justice" report released
European youth demands urgent measures for a fair and rapid transition to a more sustainable society
Across Europe, young people from diverse backgrounds—students, apprentices, young professionals, and activists—are coming together around a shared vision of climate justice and sustainability. Some are active in youth organizations or environmental NGOs, others participate in strikes or local community initiatives, yet all share a commitment to a fairer and greener Europe. They are deeply concerned about the current climate crisis, the lack of urgency, and the barriers preventing a swift and just transition.
These young voices call for systemic change: a green and just economy that ensures sustainable food, energy, housing, and mobility for everyone; meaningful youth participation in democratic processes; and accessible, high-quality education and work opportunities. They also emphasize Europe’s role in global solidarity, advocating for fair and sustainable international trade and cooperation. By combining responsibility, solidarity, and collective action, Europe’s youth outline a clear roadmap for a sustainable, equitable, and resilient future.
