Imagine a future where people live in balance with nature, where thriving ecosystems, fairer societies and resilient communities are the norm rather than the exception.
This fictional narrative, created by Generation Climate Europe, is inspired by the IPBES Transformative Change Assessment (2024), a landmark scientific report exploring the deep, systemic changes needed to halt biodiversity loss and create a just, sustainable future.
This project brings the ideas and principles of the report to life through accessible, engaging storytelling. Drawing on the assessment’s key findings and five strategies for transformative change, the narrative invites readers to imagine what a nature-positive society could look like and the choices needed to achieve it.
We hope this project raises awareness of the IPBES Transformative Change Assessment while encouraging young people to reflect on their own role in shaping a future where people and nature can flourish together.
