About Us
Generation Climate Europe (GCE) is the largest coalition of youth-led networks on climate and environmental issues at the European level. GCE unites the largest youth-led networks, bringing together 381 national organisations across 46 countries in Europe. We are guided by the voices of over 20 million young Europeans. GCE creates a platform for the youth to advocate for a just and green transition in Europe.
About the role
New Economy is a cross-cutting, overarching program at Generation Climate Europe which aims to support the inclusion of young people within beyond growth debates, working towards social and economic system transformation. The capacity building & engagement team aims to empower young people to advocate for a new economy by organising workshops for GCE volunteers, member organisations, as well as youth outside of GCE. The Project Co-Lead will be responsible for guiding the team to design and deliver trainings, workshops, and informative toolkits on diverse topics related to new economy. The Project Co-Lead will lead the team on all the activities and deliverables involved, as well as manage communication with other teams at GCE and externally.
Tasks
- Collaborate closely with the New Economy coordinators
- Collaborate with the Communication Officers to communicate the team activities on GCE social media channels
- Organise and moderate bi-weekly team meetings with your team
- Produce educational materials of various kinds (e.g. toolkits, social media posts) on beyond-growth concepts and policies (eg. degrowth, taxation)
- Assist in the organisation of a series of webinars for young people on new economic policies
About You
- Available to work remotely for around 4 – 6 hours a week (flexible).
- Confident with the Google Suite and/or Office Suite.
- You are motivated, organised and reliable.
- Experience in coordinating people/projects/organisations.
- You are curious and proactive.
- Have a positive attitude and motivation to change our current economic system
- You are a good communicator, you feel comfortable leading meetings and presenting your progress within the New Economy program and wider organisation.
- Basic knowledge of EU policy and decision-making processes.
- Basic knowledge of alternative economic models and post-growth theories.
- High proficiency in spoken and written English.
- It is preferable that you are based within a timezone that is -2 or +2 from CET/CEST as it is our main working territory.
Bonus Points
- Academic or practical experience with EU economic policy and alternative economic models.
