About the Role 

The Circular Economy Working Group is seeking passionate and committed Food Project Officers to join our team. This role is an exciting opportunity for individuals interested in the development of sustainable food systems, protein transition and depolarization. As a Food Project Officer, you will be part of a dynamic team working to promote innovative practices and sustainable food diets, and advocate for dialogue and transparency on food depolarization across Europe. The Food Project Officer will work on key initiatives, including the food sustainability and depolarization agenda, ensuring and fostering that youth voices and civil society perspectives are included. A key focus of this role will be to foster youth participation, particularly empowering young people to engage with policymakers and advocate for sustainable practices in the food segment of the circular economy.

Please note that this is a volunteer role.

Tasks:

  • Provide logistical and research support for the organization of an online/in-person workshop events on food depolarization dialogue.
  • Working on a webinar on promoting sustainable food diets in university canteens.
  • Participate in weekly Project Team meetings, sharing updates, and collaborating with team members.
  • Participate in Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform meetings, webinars, and forums to stay engaged in EU-level discussions.

About You:

  • You love food sustainability and do not shy away from speaking up about youth rights
  • You are proactive and organized.
  • You are motivated and detail-oriented.
  • You have excellent English skills, both spoken and written.
  • You can work remotely (up to 4h per week) and have reliable internet and computer access.
  • You are able to deliver quality content as expected through previously stated deadlines
  • You have great people skills

Bonus Points:

  • Network within the field(s) of food, European policy, youth advocacy, and sustainable food systems.
  • Previous experience in communications, events organization and social media campaigning.
