The long-awaited EU Textile Strategy has finally been published. It will provide an important first step in transforming the inherently unsustainable textile industry towards one where circular and sustainable products are the norm.
Overall, GCE considers the proposal a good starting point. We support the EU’s goal to push for a transition to more circular textile products, reduced environmental footprint and improved working conditions.However, there is still work to be done with the Strategy proposal leaving room for improvement.
