About Us

Generation Climate Europe (GCE) is the largest coalition of youth-led networks on climate and environmental issues at the European level. GCE unites the largest youth-led networks in Europe, bringing together 381 national organisations across 46 countries in Europe. We are guided by the voices of over 20 million young Europeans. Uniting European youth networks, GCE creates a platform for the youth to advocate for a just and green transition in Europe. GCE envisions a system that respects human rights and the planet, that includes the voice of youth and acknowledges our common, but differentiated responsibility in achieving a carbon-neutral and sustainable world.

About the Role

Since its foundation in 2019, GCE has grown to over 200 volunteers from various countries around Europe operating on a remote basis. It is important for GCE to keep on growing in a sustainable and efficient manner! As Human Resources Coordinator, you will support Working Groups and Teams for the whole recruitment and offboarding process, including promoting the vacancies and supporting the new volunteers as they join GCE.

Please note that this is a volunteer position.

Tasks:

  • Collect requests for vacancies to be opened, post them on the website, and manage the vacancies and the team webpage.
  • Work on ad hoc HR projects, such as updating the GCE Welcome Package and conduct informative HR sessions.
  • Ensure that all volunteers’ data is correctly stored and reflect the actual structure.
  • Maintain internal guidelines on onboarding and offboarding procedures and support Coordinators in these processes.
  • Strategically optimise the GCE volunteer recruiting and onboarding process.
  • Cooperate in the drafting of the vacancies and support the Communications Team in promoting the vacancies, implementing new recruitment strategies.
  • Design and implement measures to improve the retention of volunteers,

About You

  • You have volunteered for a youth organisation before.
  • You are passionate about making processes work better for the people.
  • You are proactive and organised.
  • You are motivated and detail-oriented.
  • You can work remotely and have reliable internet and computer access.

As we focus on EU advocacy, we welcome applicants with an interest and general understanding of how the EU operates and/or a European background that facilitates this knowledge. It is preferable that you are based within a timezone that is -2 or +2 from CET/CEST, as it is our main working territory.

Bonus Points

  • You have previous experience with recruitment at a non-profit organisation.
