Volunteer as: Training and Development Lead

About Us

Generation Climate Europe (GCE) is the largest coalition of youth-led networks on climate and environmental issues at the European level. GCE unites the largest youth-led networks in Europe, bringing together 381 national organisations across 46 countries in Europe. We are guided by the voices of over 20 million young Europeans. Uniting European youth networks, GCE creates a platform for the youth to advocate for a just and green transition in Europe. GCE envisions a system that respects human rights and the planet, that includes the voice of youth and acknowledges our common, but differentiated responsibility in achieving a carbon-neutral and sustainable world.

About the role

At GCE we are proud to offer our members – volunteer and Member Organisatins –  regular trainings on lobbying, communications, policy, law, and many other topics, delivered by experts in their field, in collaboration with various external organisations. Experts would advise on a short- or long-term basis on various matters surrounding our projects, from the technical and scientific dimensions of different environmental policy issues we work on to matters of communications, advocacy and partnerships. This is to ensure that we can increase our impact as well as that we can develop our capacity as an organisation.

The Training and Development Lead would report to and work closely with the Membership Coordinator, ensuring that we can design an ambitious and diverse training offer for GCE as well as provide advice from external experts to our team members working on policy matters. The role fits into the Membership Team as we want to signal to our MOs that the trainings we offer are available for their members as well, at the international, regional or local level.

Please note that this is a volunteer position.

Tasks

  • Gather information on the needs and interests of the volunteers and MOs on communications, policy, advocacy, law, project management, scientific and technical issues and other areas;
  • Managing the internal process on gathering feedback on needs of our team members regarding advice and training on various matters;
  • Establish and ensure a smooth communication between the trainers and GCE, with a particular focus on communicating GCE’s training needs and assisting the trainers in the delivery of the sessions;

  • Set up a pool of experts of GCE consisting of senior and youth experts and establish regular contacts with them;
