Volunteer as: Project Officer on Textiles

About Us

Generation Climate Europe (GCE) is the largest climate coalition of youth-led networks at the European level, pushing for stronger action from the EU on climate and environmental issues. GCE brings together 381 national organisations across 46 countries in Europe. We are guided by the voices of over 20 million young Europeans. Uniting European youth networks, GCE creates a platform for the youth to advocate for a just and green transition in Europe. GCE envisions a system that respects human rights and the planet, that includes the voice of youth and acknowledges our common but differentiated responsibility in achieving a carbon-neutral and sustainable world.

About the Role

Are you passionate about sustainability and the circular economy, particularly as they relate to textiles? Join our Textiles Projects Team, where you’ll play an essential role in advocating for more sustainable, circular textile value chains at the EU level. You’ll work alongside a diverse and motivated group of young leaders dedicated to tackling climate change and driving environmental progress.

In this role, you’ll help highlight the environmental impacts of the textile industry, empower youth to engage meaningfully in EU policy discussions, and help shape policies that move the industry toward more sustainable practices. This may involve conducting research on key policy developments, analyzing reports, or gathering data to support advocacy efforts.

The Textiles Project team meets bi-weekly to discuss ongoing projects and allocate tasks. As a team member, you’ll be expected to attend these meetings regularly and contribute actively. While we don’t require prior experience or expertise in the field, a genuine interest in textiles and sustainability is key.

Please note that this is a volunteer position.
