About Us
Generation Climate Europe (GCE) is the largest climate coalition of youth-led networks at the European level, pushing for stronger action from the EU on climate and environmental issues. GCE brings together 381 national organisations across 46 countries in Europe. We are guided by the voices of over 20 million young Europeans. Uniting European youth networks, GCE creates a platform for the youth to advocate for a just and green transition in Europe. GCE envisions a system that respects human rights and the planet, that includes the voice of youth and acknowledges our common, but differentiated responsibility in achieving a carbon-neutral and sustainable world.
About the Role
Biodiversity loss and climate change are intimately connected and form two sides of the same coin. While climate change is exacerbating the degradation of biodiversity – through the ecosystem services it provides – biodiversity action can crucially support both climate change mitigation and adaptation. There is an urgent need to show the connections between these two crises more clearly and garner higher support for both climate action and biodiversity protection and restoration.
In this role you will work under the supervision of the Biodiversity and Climate Project Leads and with a team of other volunteer project officers to keep advocating the EU youth position, engaging in various activities of raising awareness on the importance of both biodiversity protection and climate action, while engaging with relevant actors. The total amount of time estimated for this role is around 4 hours per week.
Please note that this is a volunteer position.
