Project Officer for “Gen C” on the European Parliament Elections

About Us

Generation Climate Europe (GCE) is the largest coalition of youth-led networks on climate and environmental issues at the European level. GCE unites the largest youth-led networks, bringing together 381 national organisations across 46 countries in Europe. We are guided by the voices of over 20 million young Europeans. GCE creates a platform for the youth to advocate for a just and green transition in Europe.

About the Role

The European Parliament Elections Team is a project team that is working on GCE’s election strategy for the European Parliament Elections of 2024. Our aim is to strengthen the climate and environmental policies of the EU before, during and after the elections.

GCE received funding from the European Parliament for the “Gen C” project on the European elections. With Gen C, we inform young people about the EU, the European Parliament and the elections, and empower young people to vote in the elections, in particular first-time voters.

To strengthen our Gen C project, we are looking for a project officer, who will help us with achieving our objectives and reporting on the progress of the Gen C project. We offer you a variety of tasks to choose from according to your interest, related to community engagement, event organisation, writing articles or social media.

Tasks

  • Keeping track of the project objectives and reporting on the progress.
  • Engaging with the together.eu online community.
  • Contributing to the organisation of our post-elections event.
  • Writing news posts and website articles about the elections and Gen C.
  • Participate in our weekly team meetings.

About you

  • You are motivated to make a positive impact for young people in the European elections.
  • You like to work on a variety of tasks.
  • You have good organisational skills.

  • You can work remotely and have reliable internet and computer access.
  • You are fluent in English.
  • You are able to commit 3 to 5 hours per week.
  • You are connected to the European context: as we focus on EU advocacy, we welcome applicants with an interest and general understanding of how the EU operates and/or a European background that facilitates this knowledge. It is preferable that you are based within a timezone that is -2 or +2 from CET/CEST as it is our main working territory.

Bonus Points

  • You have a good understanding of the European elections.
  • You have volunteered in a youth and/or civil society organisation before.
