Generation Climate Europe (GCE) is the largest coalition of youth-led networks on climate and environmental issues at the European level. GCE unites the largest youth-led networks, bringing together 381 national organisations across 46 countries in Europe. We are guided by the voices of over 20 million young Europeans. GCE creates a platform for the youth to advocate for a just and green transition in Europe.
About the Role
The Advocacy Team interacts with the EU institutions (European Parliament, European Commission, Council of the EU, and the EESC) with the aim to influence EU policy-making on climate and environmental issues.
As Liaison Lead for the European Parliament, you will be responsible for managing the relations with the members of the European Parliament. You will lead the work of the European Parliament team (a team of six volunteers) and set up advocacy campaigns to influence decision-making on relevant policy files in the European Parliament. As a member of the Advocacy team, you will contribute to the implementation of GCE’s Advocacy strategy, under the direction of and in close cooperation with the Advocacy Coordinators.

Tasks
- Steer the work and organise the meetings of the European Parliament team;
- Represent GCE in meetings with Members of the European Parliament;
- Develop advocacy campaigns in line with GCE’s work plan to influence decision-making in the European Parliament on relevant policy files;
- Contribute to strategic advocacy discussions within the Advocacy team and with the Board;
- Coordinate closely with GCE’s thematic working groups to support their work with European Parliament expertise;
- Organise a youth dialogue with MEPs.
About you
- You are passionate about leading advocacy efforts and involving young people in EU decision-making, particularly in the context of climate and environmental policy.
- You have a good understanding of the EU institutions, in particular the European Parliament.
- You have an interest in climate and environmental issues.
- You are able to work independently and take responsibility.
- You are well organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
- You can work remotely and have reliable internet and computer access.
- You are fluent in English.
- It is preferable that you are based within a timezone that is -2 or +2 from CET/CEST, as it is our main working territory.
Bonus Points
- You have experience managing a team.
- You have volunteered in a youth and/or civil society organisation before.
- You have the familiarity and availability to conduct meetings with decision-makers and various stakeholders.
