About Us
Generation Climate Europe (GCE) is the largest coalition of youth-led networks on climate and environmental issues at the European level. GCE unites the largest youth-led networks bringing together 381 national organisations across 46 countries in Europe. We are guided by the voices of over 20 million young Europeans. GCE creates a platform for the youth to advocate for a just and green transition in Europe. GCE envisions a system that respects human rights and the planet, that includes the voice of youth and acknowledges our common, but differentiated responsibility in achieving a carbon-neutral and sustainable world.
About the role
GCE was born in 2019 and has since brought hundreds of young people together in different volunteering capacities. We now have a a number of alumni that we would love to keep engaged and connected with each other. The role of the Alumni Lead would to develop and manage an alumni network of Generation Climate Europe.
Please note that this is a volunteer position.
Tasks
- Analyse the needs and expectations of the GCE Alumni
- Design an alumni network strategy
- Develop and regularly update a database of alumni
- Engage with and share opportunities to ensure value to the alumni network
- Review and collect feedback from the network, and implement necessary changes
- Collaborate with the Community Engagement Coordinator to ensure coherence with other organisational processes
- Collaborate with the Legal Coordination and the Head of Operations to ensure compliance with data privacy and security
About You
- You have volunteered for a youth organisation before.
- You are passionate about connecting and empowering people.
- You have an interest/experience in organising online events, games and networking opportunities.
- You are not afraid of moderating events or networking with people.
- You are proactive and organised.
- You are motivated and detail-oriented.
- You can work remotely and have reliable internet and computer access.
- You are connected to the European context: as we focus on EU advocacy, we welcome applicants with an interest and general understanding of how the EU operates and/or a European background that facilitates this knowledge. It is preferable that you are based within a timezone that is -2 or +2 from CET/CEST as it is our main working territory.
Bonus Points
- You have previous experience in mobilising communities or setting up alumni networks for organisations/associations or in the university context.
