Our Nature-based Solutions team and Nature Restoration team has just released a toolkit to advocate and engage for nature restoration. With this guide, learn about nature restoration and discover how you can advocate for it!
This GCE toolkit enables youth to grasp nature restoration issues with greater ease. In a world where 75% of terrestrial environments are significantly altered, action in favor of nature restoration is essential to preserve a healthy environment. Though taking action and knowing how to proceed can be challenging, it is crucial to understand the steps we can take. Following the adoption of the Nature Restoration law by the European Union, GCE has created a toolkit to explore concepts such as biodiversity, ecosystems, nature restoration and nature-based solutions. The document provides guidance on advocacy pathways and opportunities for youth inclusion in the development of national restoration plans. While the nature restoration law represents a major step forward for nature conservation in Europe, it is nevertheless only a first step that needs to be extended. To build on this progress, it is vital that young people are actively involved in decision-making. In this sense, this guide aims to empower them to advocate for their role in shaping the future.
