About Us
Generation Climate Europe (GCE) is the largest climate coalition of youth-led networks at the European level, pushing for stronger action from the EU on climate and environmental issues. GCE brings together 381 national organisations across 46 countries in Europe. We are guided by the voices of over 20 million young Europeans. Uniting European youth networks, GCE creates a platform for the youth to advocate for a just and green transition in Europe. GCE envisions a system that respects human rights and the planet, that includes the voice of youth and acknowledges our common, but differentiated responsibility in achieving a carbon-neutral and sustainable world.
About the Role
Transport is the only sector whose share in greenhouse gas emissions has been rising in the last decades in the EU. This is a major challenge for the region’s path to net zero, with individual cars and low-cost quick flights being the norm across Europe and on the rise.
Why should low carbon travel be inaccessible? Young Europeans want to travel for leisure and learning, but doing so in a climate-conscious way is usually unaffordable and time consuming.
In the role of Clean Mobility Project Officer, you would be helping to advocate for an inclusive and sustainable European transport sector. This means monitoring the EU’s regulatory landscape, and making sure it goes in the sense of affordability and decarbonisation. A big focus of our work is therefore on making rail more inclusive for young people.
Please note that this is a volunteer position.
