About Us
Generation Climate Europe (GCE) is the largest coalition of youth-led networks on climate and environmental issues at the European level. GCE unites the largest youth-led networks, bringing together 381 national organisations across 46 countries in Europe. We are guided by the voices of over 20 million young Europeans. GCE creates a platform for the youth to advocate for a just and green transition in Europe. GCE envisions a system that respects human rights and the planet, that includes the voice of youth and acknowledges our common, but differentiated responsibility in achieving a carbon-neutral and sustainable world.
About the communications team
The Communications Team is responsible for communicating GCE’s message and the work of its Working Groups to our audiences across Europe, through our website, social media channels and podcast. The team is divided into a website team and a social media team, with separate team leads. There are also communications officers, who work with various thematic teams in the organisation, but who are all part of the communications team as well. In total there are about 25 volunteers in the team.
About the role
The two communications coordinators are jointly responsible for the overall management of the communications team and its 25 volunteers. Together with a designated board member they also ensure that the work of the communications team is aligned with the work of the rest of the organisation, and that its structure is fit for purpose.
This coordinator will work mainly with the website team, and thus previous experience with content management systems will be beneficial.
Please note that this is a volunteer position.
