About Us
Generation Climate Europe (GCE) is the largest coalition of youth-led networks on climate and environmental issues at the European level. GCE unites the
largest youth-led networks, bringing together 381 national organisations across 46 countries in Europe. We are guided by the voices of over 20 million young
Europeans. GCE creates a platform for the youth to advocate for a just and green transition in Europe.
About the Role
Generation Climate Europe’s flagship initiative, Youth Climate Dialogues, provides a platform for youth to engage with EU institutions—including the European Commission, European Parliament, and the Council—on climate and environmental issues. The Advocacy Team at GCE coordinates these broader advocacy efforts, particularly targeting EU institutions such as the Parliament, Commission, Council, EESC, and Committee of the Regions. As a Liaison Officer for the European Commission, you will have the opportunity to work on advocacy efforts directed toward the Commission. You will also contribute to organizing the Youth Climate & Sustainability Roundtables, which bring together young Europeans and representatives from the European Commission to discuss climate and environmental policies.
Please note that this is a volunteer position.
Tasks:
- Support the organization of the Youth Climate & Sustainability Roundtables (YCSRs), ensuring effective engagement with the European Commission and its representatives.
- Contribute to logistics and event management for the YCSRs, including participant coordination, and the development of a detailed event timeline to ensure a smooth and impactful dialogue process.
- Assist in developing and implementing a strategic advocacy plan targeting the European Commission, in close collaboration with Liaison Leads, to advance climate and environmental policy discussions in line with GCE’s objectives.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings and consultations with Commission representatives and key EU stakeholders, working to build consensus and secure commitments on climate and environmental issues.
- Organize workshops on the functioning and activities of the European Commission, and provide regular briefings on the Commission’s daily climate-related work.
- Collaborate with communications officers to develop and implement a comprehensive PR strategy for the YCSRs and broader European Commission advocacy efforts, leveraging GCE’s social media channels to amplify visibility and impact
