Generation Climate Europe (GCE) is the largest coalition of youth-led networks on climate and environmental issues at the European level. GCE unites the largest youth-led networks, bringing together 381 national organisations across 46 countries in Europe. We are guided by the voices of over 20 million young Europeans. GCE creates a platform for the youth to advocate for a just and green transition in Europe. GCE envisions a system that respects human rights and the planet, that includes the voice of youth and acknowledges our common, but differentiated responsibility in achieving a carbon-neutral and sustainable world.

About the role

As Coordinator of the Working Group on Circular Economy, you will oversee the delivery of the projects within the Working Group. 

Tasks

This entails the following responsibilities and minimal commitments: 

  • Liaise with other Working Groups and the Secretariat to ensure a smooth running of GCE (one call every two weeks) 
  • Support the Working Group’s Project Leads in rolling out their planned activities (terms of collaboration as agreed between the Project Leads and the Coordinator). Specific tasks include: 
    • Liaise with the Communications Team
    • Contact with external stakeholders 
    • Collaboration with external stakeholders
    • Representation of the Working Group in external events and meetings (together with other volunteers) 
  • Ensure a good volunteering experience for the Working Group’s volunteers (one

About you

  • You have great people skills.
  • You are organised and reliable.
  • You can work remotely and have reliable internet and computer access.
  • You have a basic understanding of EU decision-making processes.

Bonus Points

  • You have previous experience in a volunteer organisation
  • You have an understanding of EU policies in one or more of the areas covered by the Working Group’s Projects 
  • Although the core activities of the Working Group take place in the afternoon when most volunteers are available, some of our partners have regular working hours. Therefore, candidates not working full-time jobs might be able to better enjoy the position.
  • Extensive network within the field(s) of: climate, European policy, youth advocacy, sustainable food systems
