Volunteer as: Communications Officer on Clean Mobility

About Us

Generation Climate Europe (GCE) is the largest coalition of youth-led networks on climate and environmental issues at the European level. GCE unites the largest youth-led networks, bringing together 381 national organisations across 46 countries in Europe. We are guided by the voices of over 20 million young Europeans. GCE creates a platform for the youth to advocate for a just and green transition in Europe. GCE envisions a system that respects human rights and the planet, that includes the voice of youth and acknowledges our common, but differentiated responsibility in achieving a carbon-neutral and sustainable world.

About the Role

You will work with the coordinators of the Communications team and the Clean Mobility Working Group to organise the communications on that policy area. This position offers the opportunity to improve GCE’s ability to communicate its Working Groups’ advocacy.
Please note that this is a volunteer position.

Tasks:

  • Organise and write social media posts about the projects of the Clean Mobility Working Group.
  • Help organise content for the newsletter, podcast, and website based on the activities of the Clean Mobility Working Group.
  • Liaise with the Communications and Clean Mobility Coordinators to communicate external engagement of the GCE representatives on their work.
  • Support the development of articles prepared by the team members from the Clean Mobility Working Group.
  • Monitor policy areas related to projects of the Clean Mobility Working Group.

About You

  • You are able to deliver quality content as expected through previously stated deadlines
  • You have previous experience in editing and/or creating written content
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills and can work with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • You can work remotely and have reliable internet and computer access
  • You have understanding of the topic area worked on by the Clean Mobility Working Group
  • You are able to commit 3 to 5 hours per week
  • how the EU operates and/or a European background that facilitates this knowledge. It is preferable that you are based within a timezone that is -2 or +2 from CET/CEST as it is our main working territory.

  • Extensive network within the field(s) of: climate, European policy, youth advocacy
  • Knowledge of an additional (European) language
