Volunteer as: Project Lead on COP31 Fundraising and Logistics

About Us

Generation Climate Europe (GCE) is the largest coalition of youth-led networks on climate and environmental issues in Europe. We bring together 381 national organisations across 46 countries, representing the voices of over 20 million young Europeans. GCE provides a platform for youth to advocate for a just and green transition, promoting policies and actions that respect human rights, protect the planet, and acknowledge our shared but differentiated responsibility in achieving a carbon-neutral and sustainable world. Each year, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) organises a Conference of the Parties (COP), where global decision-makers negotiate and shape the future of international climate action. Following the mixed outcomes of COP30, GCE is preparing to engage in COP31 (November 2026, Antalya, Turkey) by bringing together youth voices from across Europe to advocate for decisive, effective, and just climate action. As an accredited UNFCCC organisation, GCE prioritises representing its members responsibly, ensuring active, adaptable, and impactful engagement throughout the COP process.

About the Role

We are looking for a Project Lead for COP31 Fundraising and Logistics to support the strategic preparation and coordination of GCE’s participation in SB64 and COP31. The Project Lead will work closely with the two COP31 coordinators, and be responsible for designing and leading the coalition’s approach to fundraising for COP31, identifying and pursuing funding opportunities to enable the participation of GCE volunteers in SB64 and COP31.

Acting as the main focal point for fundraising coordination, the Project Lead will develop relationships with potential funders and partners, proactively engage with relevant funding programmes, and represent GCE’s added value in discussions with prospective supporters. The role also includes maintaining a strategic overview of available funding opportunities, communicating these to participants, and supporting delegates throughout application processes. In parallel, the Project Lead will work closely with the COP31 Coordinators to contribute to the overall planning and coordination of the GCE delegation, supporting the logistical organisation related to travel, accommodation, and funding arrangements for delegates attending SB64 and COP31. The role will run from March 2026 to December 2026, with the possibility of extension through COP32. The estimated workload is approximately 5 hours per week, with increased engagement expected in the lead-up to and during SB64 and COP31.

Please note that this is a volunteer role.
