Who We Are

Our Structure

GCE is comprised of the Board, the Secretariat and the Working Groups.

The Board is composed of representatives from GCE’s member organisations and directs the work of GCE.

The Secretariat oversees the daily management of GCE, current projects and coordinates the work of GCE’s Working Groups.

The Working Groups are made up of volunteers and help to expand the work of GCE and empower young people in EU decision making on environmental and climate issues.

OUR members

AEGEE is one of Europe’s biggest interdisciplinary student organisations, striving for a democratic, diverse and borderless Europe. Founded in 1985 in Paris, today AEGEE has grown to a Network of 13,000 AEGEEans, present in 161 cities in 40 countries all over Europe.

 

The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is one of the biggest student organisations in Europe. Present at over 1000 Higher Education Institutions, it unites over 520 local associations in 41 countries. ESN works for the creation of a more mobile and flexible education environment by supporting and developing student exchanges from different levels and providing an intercultural experience.

The European Students’ Union (ESU) is the umbrella organisation of 45 National Unions of Students (NUS) from 39 countries. ESU promotes the interests of students at the European level towards all relevant bodies, particularly the EU, Bologna Follow Up Group, Council of Europe and UNESCO. ESU represents almost 20 million students in Europe.

The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) Youth Committee speaks with a single voice on behalf of European workers to have a stronger say in EU decision-making. It is composed by young representatives from the organizations comprising the ETUC, with 89 national trade union confederations in 38 countries, plus 10 European trade union federations.

FIMCAP is the international federation of catholic parochial youth movements, but even more a family of youth workers, youth and children all over the world. FIMCAP aims to unite and support member organizations, to help tackle the specific needs of young people all over the world. Finally, to be a voice for young people in international institutions.

IYNF is an international organisation bringing together Young Nature friends and their organisations across Europe. It was established in 1975 and currently has 16 member and 10 partner organisations. With more than 120.000 young members organised in over a thousand local groups, it is one of the major European youth organisations.

Young European Federalists (JEF)

The Organising Bureau of European School Student Unions (OBESSU) is the umbrella organisation of national school student unions active in general secondary and secondary vocational education in Europe. Founded in 1975, it brings together organisations from across Europe, promoting equal access to education, solidarity among students and enabling exchanges of experience and good practice among the national school students unions.

Youth and Environment Europe (YEE) is a platform of European youth organisations, from 26 countries, that are active in environmental protection. YEE aims to encourage youth participation in environmental protection and to provide a platform where organisations can work together.

Agata Meysner

Agata is the Director of Generation Climate Europe. She is an activist and an environmentalist driven by empowering young people to become changemakers in their communities. Agata has experience in youth engagement and representation in EU decision-making processes, multi-stakeholder collaborations as well as EU advocacy and campaigning on climate and environmental issues. She writes and talks about youth empowerment, participatory democracy, systems change, intergenerational equity, circular economy and climate change.

Communication Team

Dimitra Vasileiadou

Dimitra is a coordinator of the communication team. She joined Generation Climate Europe in November 2019 and has a big interest in circular economy. She holds a Bachelor of Laws from UCL and a Master of Laws from BPP University. She was born and raised in Greece and is currently based in London. Dimitra loves hiking, acting and travelling.

Leoni-Almaz Reusing

Leoni is a coordinator of the communication team. She was born in Belgium but has since lived across the world. At the moment, she is completing her Bachelor in Media and Communications at the University of Sussex in Brighton. Leoni has a strong interest in the oceans, in wildlife conservation and in sustainable production and consumption.
