Cultivating Green minds to tackle Climate Change

The formal education sector has not yet met the standards required to empower the European youth as key actors in sustainability. Instead, climate change initiatives are coming from the bottom and are the triggers to include climate change in formal curricula. Because Climate change cannot only be assigned to a specific subject a more holistic approach is needed.

Europe. The objective of this campaign is to raise awareness of the interlinkages existing between climate change and other SDGs.

How can education help in saving the planet?

Education and public awareness of climate change are essential to promote and achieve sustainable development. The various international bodies, NGOs and governments are engaging in enhancing the quality and inclusion of education to combat climate change and this was reflected in the fourth sustainable development goal of the 2030 Agenda.
