World Environment Day Anatomy of Action

For World Environment Day, the “Land and Sea-use” team of the Biodiversity Working Group prepared you 5 actions you can do to protect biodiversity in your day-to-day life. Those five actions aim to make your part to halt the biodiversity loss. Since 1970, 60% of all the vertebrates on Earth disappeared because of the overexploitation and exploitative use of lands and seas.

World Environment Day Quizzes

For World Environment Day, the “Wildlife & Protected Areas” and “Empowerment” teams of the Biodiversity Working Group prepared you 4 quizzes you can do take to increase your knowledge and understanding of biodiversity. Raising awareness of the importance of biodiversity, the current biodiversity crisis and its impacts, and the possible solutions, is the first step towards creating a more just, compassionate and sustainable ecological civilisation.

International Day for Biological Diversity 2020

Today marks the International Day for Biological Diversity. Biodiversity includes diversity within species, between species and in ecosystems. However, biodiversity is so much more than that, as it encompasses all the complex interactions between living organisms that form the perfectly balanced ecosystems which support life. The air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, all rely on these ecological interactions. The health and prosperity of our society, our cultures, our economies, our livelihoods and our very survival are dependent on biodiversity.
